I think this will be a long rant with spoilers and swearing.....
Safe Word on Amazon UK
I have no idea what I just read
Another warning of spoilers and swearing proceed at your own risk
Cole/Colt meets Rose/Lilly they have a past, in love when there were kids her dad abused her..it implies she rich kid but the description of where she lives doesn't seem to be that way so I don't even know.
Anyway they meet in a bar he doesn't remember her straight away, he wants to remember her so they meet up again. Turns out now he's a bad boy.... as in kidnaps women for ransom.
So in the end he realizes who she is, kidnaps her and makes out he has no choice...well yes you fucking did sir you had a fucking choice. I don't even get this part at all.
He acts like he cares so he Kidnaps an abused girl who's going by a different name so she's been through some shit.
She's scared and he's nasty to her... but he doesn't want them both dead? so he has to be nasty (nice), so he's mean to her and tells her she better go along with what he says, he tries to keep his distance but they end up getting it on (again scared ABUSED girl here locked up in a bedroom and this is all OK)
I know she knows him, but in this seriously scary fucking situation there is no way in hell she would be doing this...he isn't even nice to her.
Turns out he is an ex cop and while he isn't really the bad guy but he is...in fact I'm not even sure. I think he is like an undercover cop that doesn't work for the police but the government although they put him in prison (for something he doesn't do) but he gets sent off to do another job...with a new identity. I just don't know to be honest with you.
Its just one big clusterfuck of a flip in the story I don't even understand, there was even a point a feel like it was implied that Lilly/Rose wasn't in danger and this was the plan all along even though her going to find him was totally random.
The amber thing holy hell he saved her once so they were friends, which made him become a cop, till he wasn't a cop, decided that he loves Amber but not in the same way as Lilly/Rose.
Is a huge chunk of this book missing. I don't understand why he had to kidnap her I really don't, and because of this the whole book felt fake I didn't understand what was going on half the time, I was re-reading bits, the characters were flat and didn't do anything that made sense.
I feel like I've just read a load of random stuff like the story was only half thought about, then just cut and pasted together.
Maybe I'm being silly or just totally missed something...I'm glad its super short or I may of smashed my kindle up.
Don't get me wrong I've read a lot of Teresa Mummert's stuff and for the most part I like her books but this one...What the fucking hell was this.
Maybe I will like this book once its explained to me, but should a book really be so badly written or edited that I don't understand and I have to search for answer to what the hell it was about, now I do think every book is a work of love and it takes a lot of time and energy and I couldn't do it myself but this book for me personally wasn't good at all.
0.5/5
I think for a kidnapping book the people shouldn't know each other, and not be childhood sweethearts...why would you kidnap them.
They should fall for each other over time, not be worried one minute unsure about your safety to shagging the next.
WTF!
I go from one thing to the next and everyone keeps telling me my head is full of magic...so this is my blog which anything could go on.

Suicide Note - Teresa Mummert
Amazon 77p Suicide Note
This book follows the story of Jenn and Shane,
Jenn is very career orientated and wants to move up, but she has a boss who doesn't seem to like her (or anyone for that matter) She was engaged to Thomas but found panties under the pillow of her bed and he just didn't come home one night.
Her sister is getting married which doesn't make her feel better especially when we find out who the guy is.
Shane is a sergeant in the army fighting the war, when he calls home finds his fiancée can't cope with him being in the army and is now with a dentist, so his home coming plans change and he goes to stay with his cousins family.
This is where the two main characters cross paths as Shanes cousin is Jenns boss.
I like the way the story is written it changes from The POV of Shane and Jenn, without being too confusing. (altho at some points its would say something in shanes POV about Jenn, that he wouldn't know as he wouldn't be there to see it. Like they would be talking on the phone and it would say Jenn picked up a glass of water ..... He wouldn't know this)
I liked the chemistry between Jenn and Shane and also the cousins family (really can't remember his name) some very funny moments. I wont lie there were moments where I cried, I can't imagine having my husband be away for that long not knowing if he would make it home.
Its a boy meets girl book but I think it had enough depth to make it a good read, I did have some problems with the story:
The way her sister, mum and dad act like Jenn is being unreasonable. That whole thing was unrealistic, I really hated Jenns family for making her go through that. But then by the end your expected to like them as all is forgiven. These people are evil there is no way you could make me like them, and I don't think Jenn would of gone to the wedding even if it was her sister. And expect the reader just to flip into liking the family. I get Jenn is alone and going through a bad time but this part of the book wasn't done so great. (as I was writing notes I just have a big WTF! When this happened)
I did like the ending it was sweet (maybe too sweet for some) but I'm all emotional at the moment anyway and I loved it :)!
I would give this book a 3.5/5 it didnt take too long to read and I did like most of the story
